LinkShift ("we", "our", or "the extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our data practices for the LinkShift browser extension.

1. Zero Data Collection & 100% Client-Side Operation

LinkShift operates entirely inside your local web browser.

• No Telemetry or Tracking: We do NOT collect, log, track, or transmit your browsing history, visited URLs, IP addresses, device identifiers, or any personal data.
• No External Servers: LinkShift does not maintain any remote servers, databases, or analytics services. All link previewing, tracker stripping, and safety auditing occur locally on your device.

2. Chrome Extension Permissions & Usage

LinkShift requests minimal browser permissions strictly necessary to perform its core functions:

• declarativeNetRequest & declarativeNetRequestWithHostAccess: Used exclusively to strip anti-framing HTTP response headers (X-Frame-Options, Content-Security-Policy) and invasive tracking URL parameters (utm_source, fbclid, gclid, twclid) locally at the network layer.
• storage: Used exclusively to store your extension preferences (such as hover preview delay speed and Ctrl-key hover requirement) locally in your browser's local storage.
• host_permissions (*://*/*): Allows LinkShift to detect hovered links across web pages and render destination page previews inside the extension popover window.

3. Data Sharing & Third-Party Services

• No Data Selling: We do NOT sell, rent, trade, or monetize user data under any circumstances.
• No Third-Party Analytics: LinkShift contains zero third-party tracking scripts, advertising SDKs, or analytics services.

4. Security

Because LinkShift processes all previews and tracker stripping locally within your browser's extension sandbox, your browsing activity never leaves your local machine.
